Wrapping the WRAP

It has been a bit since the last update.

Insulation time.

The walls are fairly straight forward.

3/4" polystyrene board. I would have rather had polyisocyanurate board but no source local had 3/4"

I wasn't necessarily looking for foil faced since my wrap has it but that is what they had.

NOW...insulating the wrap was more tricky.

If you use fiberglass it's not a big deal with the curves but had some "fanfold" board for free so I decided I would use it.

3 layers of fanfold and 1 layer of some other leftover Prodex insulation got me to the 3/4" thickness.

A bit of spray glue between each layer kept things in place.

  

Now time to wrap the WRAP.

There is what is called "double bubble" insulation/vapor barrier which is sort of like packing bubble plastic wrap but I didn't like the idea of the bubbles popping and losing the consistent thickness.

This thermal reflective barrier is foil 1 side white 1 side with foam between. Less than 1/8" thick so it doesn't change the fit of anything and adds a bit of cushion to the metal once installed.

Seams and edges are sealed with high quality house wrap tape or an HVAC tape.

Quick side note. Remember to mark all the spots that you CAN'T place screws or staples.

Mark them with paint that will stay on.

Another minor accomplishment.

Back on her own new wheels, tires and axle.

First time in many many months.

A few different lines of progress over the Holidays.

Rebuilding my Auto Lamp 151

Next project was curbing.

3 layers plywood to get close to 3/4". 

The 5mm-1/4" I had didn't like to bend to well but the leftover wrap plywood did great.

 9mm-5mm-9mm Don't ya just hate this metric plywood.

Got the tail light blocks in and cut out while doing the curbing.

Interior of our modified surplus door got a wood veneer to make it fit in with the rest of the interior.

That pebble white plastic just wasn't gonna work for us.

And as a final bit of work for the New Year I got a few of our cork ceiling tiles installed so I could install the last light over the bench.

It's gonna be different but will add such a rich look when all is done.

Countertop/Sink/Backsplash

Got half of our tin ceiling tiles done. Can hardly wait to get the empty spots filled with our cork tiles

Surplus door I bought was perfect...except it was 4" too tall. I had to take it all apart to cut down to the correct height.

Countertop..Tabletop..and a bit more electrical.

Got the laminate glued on and trimmed

Edge trim installed and sink cut out.

Not an original Scotty light, but it sure seems to fit right in.
